I discovered Bryce after seeing Jurassic World in 2015. I then began watching interviews of Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard, and finding myself smiling and laughing more than I had in years. As I watched more and more, I eventually fell down a hole of Bryce interviews, and after having watched all the videos I could find, I logged back into my old Twitter account. That is where my life truly changed. Bryce wasn’t even on Twitter at that point in time; she hadn’t even announced that she would eventually join. This was just me stepping back into the Twitterverse, looking for fellow fans of this amazing lady I’d discovered. What I found was more than just fellow fans: I found an online family. This is something I’ll always be grateful to Bryce for.

From the moment Bryce joined social media, she’s helped me not to let the things that frighten me stop me from enjoying life. She made me realize that no matter how scary or dark things may seem, beauty can be found in the darkest of places. She’s mentioned once, in a video together with her father, a quote that said “Chase what excites you.” When I heard that, something immediately clicked. I need to chase what excites me. I need to stop being afraid of the ‘what-ifs’ and just do it. It hasn’t been an overnight change, but I’ve slowly started doing just that. In a few months time, I will be moving out of the state I’ve lived in my whole life. I’m going somewhere new, ready to make new memories. I may not have had the courage to make this move if it hadn’t been for the confidence and bravery I’ve found through Bryce. I’m excited to start this new journey, to chase the excitement that I’ve been denying myself for years.
