The big news is that the release date for Jurassic World: Dominion has been moved to June 10, 2022. This doesn’t come as too big surprise since Universal (and just about every other studio) has been delaying their film releases. Jurassic World: Dominion is sure to be a huge hit at the box office and I’m certain Universal doesn’t want to jeopardize that. As for production, filming was just a few weeks away from being complete. However, it’s been reported by multiple sources, including Colin Trevorrow himself, that there has been a covid-19 scare on set. Apparently it was a false positive, but they are halting production for 2 weeks as a precaution. So, now production is expected to continue into early November.
While we are SO excited for this film and sad that we must wait another year longer, we are also so grateful that the film is nearly complete without major script changes or compromises due to the current climate. It is noteworthy that the production has gotten this far, near completion, without any outbreaks or true positive cases. We applaud everyone in involved for the extraordinary dedication by the cast, crew, and on set doctors to keep everyone safe.

A spokesperson for Universal Pictures said they were informed of the positive tests last night and that all tested negative this morning.
“The safety and well-being of our entire cast and crew is paramount,” the spokesperson added. “Those who initially tested positive are currently self-isolating, as are those who they have come into contact with.”
Filming on the new “Jurassic World” movie at Pinewood Studios in the UK has been suspended for two weeks because of COVID-19 cases on set. Director Colin Trevorrow tweeted Wednesday that there were “a few” positive tests for the virus.
He added that the individuals tested negative shortly after, but that they would be pausing for two weeks regardless to adhere to safety protocols.
